At Amazing DMC, sustainability is embedded in how we design and deliver every experience — from the first idea to on-site execution. Our aim is simple: to create exceptional journeys while protecting the landscapes and communities that make Iceland so unique.
We take a considered approach to program design, carefully selecting routes, managing group sizes, and adapting to seasonal conditions to minimise impact. We work closely with trusted local partners who share our values, supporting local businesses and ensuring high environmental and safety standards across every program.

From reducing waste and avoiding single-use plastics to favouring efficient transport and local sourcing, small decisions are made with long-term impact in mind.

Kolviður
– the Iceland Carbon Fund
Amazing DMC has made a contract with the ICF to offer our groups to offset their ground program. The Iceland Carbon Fund (ICF) offers carbon offsets through tree planting. The ICF was founded in 2007 by the Icelandic Forestry Association and the Icelandic Environment Association, but the ICF has its independent board. The concept of the ICF is based on sequestering carbon from the atmosphere through tree planting, as trees sequester carbon and release oxygen. The ICF encourages reducing carbon emissions as much as possible and offsetting unavoidable emissions through carbon sequestration. The overall goal is thus to sequester carbon in forests, decrease the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and combat soil erosion, increase public awareness of carbon emissions and their impact and provide education on related topics. Depending on the program we can calculate how many trees you need to plant, Kolviður will take care of this for us in locations that need it the most in Iceland.

In the early days, Iceland had 25-30% of its land covered with trees. Over time, the trees disappeared, leaving only a small fraction of the land forested. With ongoing reforestation efforts, we hope that 40 years from now, 2.5% of Iceland will be covered with trees..

Your group will have the opportunity to adopt a stretch of beach for a cleanup mission. Rest assured, the pollution is primarily plastic and other non-hazardous materials, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. These beaches are often secluded, providing a serene environment to connect with nature while making a positive impact.
Collaboration with Local Farmers
We collaborate with local farmers, the owners of these beautiful coastal areas, to find the perfect spot for your group. After a fulfilling cleanup session, you can relax and enjoy the stunning Icelandic scenery, leaving behind a pristine beach as a testament to your hard work.
Exciting Discoveries
Cleaning the beach can be an adventure in itself! You might come across interesting finds like messages in a bottle or other treasures carried by the North Atlantic currents. To add an element of fun, we can organize a treasure hunt where your group searches for hidden golden coins and messages in bottles leading to a treasure.
